Katie brings to the Kodet team an excitement for collaborative design. Her passion for architecture began with drawing and traveling. She began her education at Gustavus Adolphus with a major in Studio Art + Art History. During school she enjoyed exploring historic architecture in Turkey, Egypt, China, and Jordan. These opportunities culminated into pursuing dual graduate degrees at the University of Minnesota. After completing her Masters of Architecture, she continued classes in the Heritage Conservation and Preservation program. This enabled her to study the preservation of historic buildings, districts, landscapes, and the design and management of cultural heritage sites. In her opinion, the stories embodied in historic buildings are worth preserving.
Katie is an asset to the firm as she will utilize her expertise in developing the vision of our clients and a specialized emphasis in historic restoration. Katie is involved in all aspects of the design process lending her expertise and extensive knowledge in collaboration with Kodet leadership and team. She will also be involved in conditions assessment as well as the drafting of existing buildings through Revit. Katie will be lending her creative eye and experience within the marketing department in proposal development as well as writing for the Kodet blog.
